It was a summer house or cottage as newporters called them in remembrance of the modest houses of the early 19th century. The original house was quarried from the property and later additions incorporated danby marble to its facade. The residency integrates sustainable practices including small scale organic food production and waste conservation. Our residency program is uniquely curated to bring together a diverse group of artists to facilitate exchange of different expertise.
Marble house project rents its facilities throughout the year. Its temple front portico resembles that of the white house. Marble house project is a multi disciplinary artist residency program that fosters collaboration the exchange of ideas by providing an environment for artists across disciplines to live and work side by side. We have a variety of event spaces along the property perfect for weddings cocktail parties and corporate events film and photo shoots and workshops.
